The biggest advantage of smart LED lights is the ability to connect them to your smartphone via dedicated apps. Through these apps, you can signal the lights to turn on and off, change colors, and create personalized lighting experiences.
Connect LED Lights to Phone Using AP Mode
For Android or iPhone users, start by downloading the LePro LampUX app from the Play Store or App Store. Create an account within the app. Turn on the LED strip lights and wait for about 10 seconds. Press and hold the button on the strip light controller for approximately 5-10 seconds. The lights will start flickering rapidly. Open the LampUX app and tap the plus (+) sign button in the top-right corner to identify the LED lights you want to control. Click on ‘AP Mode’ in the top-right corner. Select ‘Confirm indicator rapidly blinking’ to prompt the WiFi connection. Enter your WiFi username and passcode. Once connected, the app will guide you to connect your smartphone to the same WiFi network as the LED lights. Once connected, you can start controlling your LED strip lights using your smartphone.
Note: This setup process is specific to LePro LED strip lights but is generally similar for other LED strip lights from different brands.
Connect LED Lights to Phone Using EZ Mode
Like the AP mode, download the LampUX app from the Play Store or App Store and sign up for an account. Select ‘Confirm indicator rapidly blinking’ to prompt the WiFi connection. Enter your WiFi credentials to connect. After a few seconds, your LED lights will be added to the app, and you can rename them for easier recognition.

Connect Already Setup LED Lights to Phone
If you’ve already set up the LePro LampUX app on your smartphone and added your smart LED lights, follow these steps:
Open the app and select ‘Auto Scan’ mode. Enable fast flicker mode. The app will search and find your LED lights. Enter the WiFi credentials to connect. Remember, LePro LampUX products only work with 2.4GHz WiFi networks. If you have a dual-band router, make sure to select the 2.4GHz network when setting up your LED lights.
Set LED Lights Timer Using Your Phone
After adding your LED lights to the LampUX app using either AP mode or EZ mode, you can set up timers and schedules for automation purposes. Here’s how: Tap on the lights icon within the app. Look for the ‘Timer’ switch, which allows you to automatically schedule lights turning on and off. Once you’ve added your desired automation, click ‘Save.’ If you prefer setting up specific schedules, click on the ‘Schedule’ button and create custom time-based lighting settings.
Final Thoughts
Connecting your smartphone to LED lights is a straightforward process that enhances your home’s ambiance and creates a smart environment.
Just remember to download the dedicated app for your best LED light strips and follow the manufacturer’s instructions. Enjoy the convenience and flexibility of controlling your lighting with a simple tap on your phone!
